The Application And Research Of Colorful Trees In The Urban Parks In Nanjing

Nanjing is a famous historical and cultural city of China, it has a long history of landscape gardening, a wide range of plants, and rich planting experience. Along with the2014Youth Olympic Games approaching, Nanjing’s construction is concerned extraordinarily. As the largest green space system in the city, city park green space plays a crucial role in improving the city environment. Characteristic plant is one of the important factors composed of city park plant landscape. Colorful leaf plant with its rich and colorful leaf color changes, become a new favorite of urban greening, and has broad prospects of development. Therefore it has the vital significance to research colorful trees’ application status in city parks in Nanjing, analyze its advantages and disadvantages, and explore the future development direction.By means of consulting documents and data, I selected47sample plots from the12city parks (of4types of greenbelt) in Nanjing and did extensive fieldwork. Taking the plant ecology theory as the foundation, using aesthetics and garden aesthetics principle, I analyzed plant species of the colorful leaf plant community, species quantity characteristic, configuration mode, the color leaf plant’s seasonal variation and color characteristics, and finally made a comprehensive landscape evaluation for the47plant communities through the establishment of reasonable evaluation system.The research content and main conclusions of this article include:Through the analysis of community characteristics of the47sample plots and the research of colorful leaf plant resources, we can know that there are39families63genera89species of colorful trees in Nanjing’s urban parks. There is a variety of color leaf plant, but which is widely applied is not much; colored-leaf trees are more Vernacular than color-leaf shrubs; spring color leaf plants mostly present the red tone, autumn color leaf plants mostly present the yellow tone; the application of regular-color leaf plants and spotted leaf plants is insufficient.Through the analysis and comparison of the differences of color-leafed plants’ selection and configuration model in the4types of green space-park road green space, park plant-main feature green space, park waterfront green space, park building green space, we can know that types of green space have different color-leafed plants landscape effect.The comprehensive evaluation quality of color leaf plant landscapes in Nanjing urban park is generally good. Three evaluation indexes sorted according to their importance are ecological features, plant disposition and construction of the landscape environment. There are26sample plots reaching the standard of Level1,17of Level Ⅱ,4of Level Ⅲ.This article summarized ornamental characteristics of color leaf plants in Nanjing urban parks, put forward some optimized suggestions and a list of colorful leaf plants suitable for the Nanjing city, provided reference and theory basis for colorful leaf plants’ application in Nanjing’ green space system.
