New planted ramie often have defects of fewer efficient plant numbers, many of high-branches, difficult to peel bast, low yield, bad fiber quality and so on. Aiming at all these shortages, the cuttage breeding technology of fine varieties and high-yield and good-quality cultivating method, breeding Cutting seedling with several low-branches, planting deeply appropriately, ridging to foster rootstocks when intertilling, was brought forward. The mail test results were as follows:(1) Seedling survival rate of low-branch cutting seedling was different in different ramie varieties, but all above 80%, nearly equaled to general cuttage. All varieties can breed low-branch cutting seedling. The characteristics of branch of ramie seedling had nothing to do with root type, but had important relationship with tillering, higher the ability of plant division, more branches. The results showed that all different ramie types could improve them yields and quality via breeding low-branch seedling.(2) The characteristics of cutting wood (diameter, length, leaf number) had important effects to seedling survival rate of low-branch cutting seedling and the quality of ramie seedling: the cutting wood with mid-diameter, 10cm length and about 4 leaves, had increase seedling survival rate and the quality of ramie seedling.(3) The cutting depth and density had important effects to seedling survival rate of low-branch cutting seedling and the quality of ramie seedling: the more deeply cutted, the longer the cutting wood, the host stem was longer, the survival rates was relatively slightly lower, the branch number was less, the branch position was higher, and the dry matter accumulation was smaller obviously; the cutting density of ramie had relatively small effect to seedling survival rate, but cutting too dense was harmful to ramie seedling grow. Therefore, to cultivating low-order branch ramie seedling, cutting 1.5cm was suitable and didn't over 3cm, and cutting more densely.(4) The topping-ff technology of cutting seedling (the time of topping off, the height of residual stump, and the residual leaves) had certain effects to seedling survival rate of low-branch cutting seedling and the quality of ramie seedling: the earlier the ramie topping off, the better the quality the ramie seedling. As the increasing of height of residual stump and residual leaves, the seedling survival rate increased. So, the best time of topping off of ramie low-branch cutting seedling was 3 days after domesticating the seedling, the height of residual stump was under 6.0cm, and keeping 2-4 leaves was best.(5) Ramie low-brand cutting seedling breeding and cultivating techniques can increased efficient plant numbers, decreased high-branches, improved bast yields and fiber fineness obviously.
