The color of Silver Chain is not uniform and pretty enough, which is one of the crucial factors to the processing and utilization of Silver Chain. Through inducing discoloration, the application and usefulness of Silver Chain can be improved. Silver Chain is firstly taken as research object for the analyses of induced discoloration; the paper carried on content determination of extractives of Silver Chain, analyzed the color different and the vision physics parameters before and after discoloring under different pretreatment conditions, and, took the samples for chromatographic analysis by infrared spectrum and GC-MS. The results showed: (1)The color of Silver Chain tended to be dark and uniform gray-brown; (2)Under the condition in high temperature steaming, the color of Silver Chain was much more uniform; (3)The preliminary conclusion of the effect of extractives in induced discoloration was:â‘ After induced discoloration,The carbonyl (-C=O) and the conjugated double bond(C=C)increase, belong to chromophoric groups, which made the wood color deeper;â‘¡There were plenty of auxochromic groups and chromophoric groups in the acetone extractives of silver chain, the interaction between the auxochromic groups and the chromophoric groups makes the wood color deeper.
