In this paper, with the research object of Duchesnea indica, Glechoma hederacea, Potentilla flagellaris and Ranunculus repens, the drought resistance of the 4 plants are studied in exterior shape and physiological and biochemic aspects systemically, and the ultimate water consumption are calculated during growing period. The main conclusion are theseâ‘ According to the observation of four ground-cover plants' growing situation after division, it is concluded that Ranunculus repens takes the shortest time to recover and grows rapidly ,and other three plants grow quickly after June.During July ,the four plants' ornamental effects are nice. In general, the reproduce ability of four ground-cover plants are strong and able to cover the ground quickly.â‘¡By observing cuttings growing status after one month later when the cutting experiment began respectively in May, July and September, the conclusion is that the best time for 4 ground-covers cutting is May, obviously better than other two period. The livability of cutting in September is the lowest, although, from May to September are all suitable time for cutting growing of 4 ground-covers.â‘¢According to the drought resistance experiment which makes the plants under lasting drought pressure without any watering until the upper-side die away, with the analyses of plants' exterior shape , physiological and biochemic parameters, photosynthetic parameters, WUE, and chlorophyll fluorescence parameters ,the sequence of drought resistance of four plants are made ,and the mechanism of drought resistance are discussed. The content and accumulation rates of proline are closed correlated to the wilt situation are found in the experiment, the two parameters can be used to sequence the plants' drought resistance. Based on the analyses, the ability to drought resistance from strong to weak are: Potentilla flagellaris, Glechoma hederacea, Duchesnea indica,Ranunculus repens.â‘£According to the experiment of assimilate volume of 4 ground-covers with normal watering treatment and ultimate watering treatment, it is concluded that: Ranunculus repens need obviously more water than other three plants, Potentilla flagellaris need the least water in the four plants in ultimate treatment, 4 plants of ultimate watering treatment are much earlier to get in senescence situation than they of normal watering. When the experiment was finished, the ornamental effect between two treatment of three plants are not obvious, except Ranunculus repens.
