Drip irrigation is a modern technology, is also the efficient water-saving irrigation in the world. At present most of the drip irrigation at home and abroad are researched on fruit trees, vegetables, cotton, melons and other high value crops. But it is so less research on potato, especially potato in arid and semi-arid areas by drip irrigation. Potato is an important economic crops and food crops for the Yulin farmers. Yulin city is devoid of water resources, agriculture drought is of frequent occurrence, coupled with energy industry developed, it has competed for water with agricultural, and the contradiction of water supply and demand is very conspicuous. All these Caused serious obstacles and difficulties for people's production and livelihood and the continued development of the national economy. The paper studied drip irrigation on potato in Yulin city. The experiment was conducted in changsheng village of Jingbian County in Yulin city. The test took different irrigation time and different irrigation amount to analyze the potato height, stem diameter, dry matter accumulation of stems and leaves, yield, the changes in soil moisture, and soil evaporation, soil temperature and water consumption of potato. There were 10 treatments (including a CK) taken in the test, and each treatment repeated three times. The test started from May 27, and ended on September 8, lasted 105 days. From the test I got the following results:(1) In the certain water amount, the longer the water cycle was, the lower the yield was. In the water amount of 90m~3/hm~2, the yield of treatment in 3 days irrigation interval was 5364 kg per hectare higher than 5 days, and was 10260 kg per hectare higher than 7 days. In the certain irrigation cycle, the yield increased as the water amount increased; while in the treatment of 3 days irrigation interval, as the water amount increased, the yield declined. The highest yield was 33912 kg/hm~2, it came from the treatment of 90m~3/hm~2 irrigation amount and 3days irrigation cycle. The highest yield was 1620 kg per hectare higher than the treatment 7, whose water amount was largest.(2) There was a second parabolic relations between the potato yield and height; and there was obviously linear relationship between the potato yield and dry matter accumulation of stems and leaves, the correlation coefficient was large as much as 0.9639. (3) The shorter the irrigation interval was, the greater the soil evaporation was. In the treatments under the once of 3 days, the average soil evaporation was 4.81mm/d, while in the treatments under the once of 7 days, the average soil evaporation was 3.18mm/d. The soil evaporation of CK was the least, its average evaporation was only 2.32mm/d.(4) In the tuber expansion period, the water consumption of treatment 7 was 139.50mm, it was 322% higher than the seedling stage, and 127% higher than the tubers form period. The water consumption was directly proportional to the irrigation water. The largest water of treatment 7 was 243 mm, and its water consumption was also the largest, it was 329.43mm. The water consumption of CK was the lowest, was only 155.36mm. The yield was highest when the water consumption was 285.84mm. The yield increased as the water consumption increased when the water consumption was less than 285.84 mm, but when the water consumption was more than 285.84 mm, the yield reduced as the water consumption increased.(5) The WUE of treatment 1 was 15.93%, was the highest; the second was 14.62% of treatment 1; and the WUE of CK was the least, only was 6.46%. There was linear relationship between the WUE and the water consumption. The WUE increased as the water consumption increased when the water consumption was less than 220 mm, but it reduced as the water consumption increased when the water consumption was more than 220 mm.
