One 8-week feeding trials were conducted to determine the dietary NaCl,DL-carnitine compound and bile acid affection on growth, partial physiological enginery and body color factors for juvenile channel catfish[Ictalurus punctatus ] reared in fresh water . In experiment 1: NaCl was added to the basal diet at 0, 3 or 6 g NaCl /kg diet. In experiment2: carnitine compound was added to the basal diet at standard of 100 g DL-carnitine /kg diet; bile acid was added to the carnitine compound complemented diet at standard of 37.5 g belic /kg diet. In the experiment, each diet was fed to three replicate groups of fish, individual fish initially weighing 30.6±0.2 g, in a closed, recirculating rearing system. The result showed:Experiment 1:(1) The result showed: The channel catfish fed the diet supplemented with 6 g NaCl /kg diet had greater special growth rate (SGR) than the fish fed the diets supplemented with 3 and 0 g NaCl /kg diet. Feed conversation rate (FCR) in fish generally accorded to the SGR pattern.(2) Serum GOT activity was lowest in the fish fed the diets supplemented with 6 g NaCl /kg diet, followed by the fish fed the diet with 3 g NaCl /kg diet and highest in the fish fed the 3 g NaCl /kg diet.Liver GPT activity in 3 g NaCl/kg diet group is lower than 0g NaCl/kg diet and 6g NaCl/kg diet obviously.(3) Dorsal skin Tyrosinase activity was highest in the fish fed the diets supplemented with 6 g NaCl /kg diet, followed by the fish fed the diet with 0 g NaCl /kg diet and lowest in the fish fed the 3 g NaCl /kg diet. Conclusion:In this experiment condition, the optimal dorse of salt addition in feed is 6 g/kg. Experiment 2:(1) The channel catfish fed the diet supplemented with carnitine compound had highest Feed conversation rate (FCR) in fish, the FCR increased 17.27% than control group obviously. The special growth rate&FCR decreased 5% and 6% separately(2) The liver GPT & GOT activity increased 6.25% and 1.60% separately when 37.5 g bile acid was added into the feed which was supplemented with DL-carnitine compound. The fish's skin SLZ Ezyme of carnitine compound+bile acid group was depressed markedly contrasted with control group.(3) The concentration of total carotenoids in backside skin of DL-carnitine group & DL-carnitine+bile acid group was lower than control group obviously. The concentration of total luteins in backside skin of DL-carnitine+bile acid group is lower than control group obviously. Conclusion:In this experiment condition, 200mgDL-Carnitine compound (50%) addition in feed enhanced FCR, reduced feed index (FI) obviously. Supplementation with 37.5 g bile acid into the feed which was supplemented with DL-carnitine compound had the trend to enhance the liver function.
