In this study, we talked about the qualitative effects of apple fruit (cv. Golden-red) harvested in different date and different storage models, which offers evidence in theory and in practice for refreshing Golden-red. The results showed as follows:1. In Jilin area, the appropriate harvest date for golden-red apple is from the end of August to the beginning of September. At this time, firmness, soluble solid and titratable acid content of fruit are 11.00 kg.cm-2, 12.40% and about 0.76%, respectively. After 100 days of storage, firmness, soluble solid and titratable acid are still 7.90 kg.cm-2, 11.30% and 0.50%, respectively. In the period, vitamin C content, weight loss and decay incidence are 5.07mg 100g-1 FW-1 4.70% and 0.50%, respectively.2. Under cellar condition(15-0℃),the apple fruit wrapped with plastic membrane (0.05 mm) and added into ethylene absorb (Treatment I) have longer storage life than treatment II (wrapped with 0.05 mm plastic membrane but no ethylene absorb) and others (Treatment III, IV, V, VI, VII and VIII). The pulp browning and alcohol odor were observed in those fruit in Treatment V and VI (wrapped with 0.07 mm plastic membrane). After storage, firmness, soluble solid, and titratable acid content of fruit in treatment I and II are 7.40 and 7.00 kg.cm-2, 11.40% and 11.20% or 0.46% and 0.43%, respectively. The decay incidence of fruit in treatment is lower than 1.50%. Storage life of fruit in treatment I is up to 140 d which is 15 d or 25 d longer than not added into ethylene absorb or pulled. The fruit should be wrapped and pulled with 0.07 mm plastic membrane and added into ethylene absorb.3. Under refrigeration(2℃), the firmness of fruit in Treatment I, II, V and VI is 8.20, 7.90, 8.30 and 7.80 kg.cm-2; titratable acid content is 0.48%, 0.45%, 0.47% and 0.41%, respectively. Soluble solid contents and decay incidence in all fruit are higher than 11.60% and lower than 1.50%, respectively. Therefore, Treatment I is better than others when applied for storage of apple fruit. The storage life of fruit in Treatment I is 140 days, which is 55 d, 28 d and 35 d longer than that of control, no ethylene absorb and pulled, respectively.
