In this paper, the seed of Panax notoginseng was collected from Yunnan Wenshan and planted in the farmland of Guangxi Jingxi. The seedlings of different color stem pole of Panax notoginseng were studied, the treatments had included spurting 0.3% KH2PO4 with different commensurability and spurting paclobutrazol with different concentration on the leaf surface, fertilizing compound fertilizer mixing soil with different commensurability. The observations and determinations included the survival rate of seedling, agricultural character, contents of chlorophyll and MDA, activities of POD and PAL, anatomy structures of stem and root, individual fresh weight, accumulation of dry weight, qualities of seedlings, contents of saponins and flavonoids. The results were summarized as follows:1. The length and width of leaves, height, stem thick of the purple stem of Panax notoginseng seedling were bigger than those of the green stem and transitional stem. The content of MDA in the purple stem was lower than that of the green was, while the activities of PAL, the contents of saponins and flavonoids were higher than those of the green. The seedling the quality of purple stem was better. The contents of chlorophyll and the activities of POD were not significantly different among different color stem, the anatomy structures were all the same.2. After spurting 0.3% KH2PO4 on the leaf surface with different commensurability, the number of useful seedlings and the accumulation of saponins had significantly increased, while flavonoids was a little restrained. Spurting 0.3 % KH2PO4 on the leaves had no effected on the length and width of leaves, height, stem thick of seedling stage Panax notoginseng. The more 0.3 % KH2PO4 was spurted, the higher the contents of chlorophyll and the activities of MDA were, the lower the activities of POD and PAL.3. The length and width of leaves, height, stem thick of Panax notoginseng seedling nearly had been not affected by spurting Paclobutrazol on the leaves. The higher the concentrations were, the higher the contents of Chlorophyll and the activity of PAL were, while the contents of MDA were not significantly different. The activity of POD was heightening firstly and then reducing. When the concentration of paclobutrazol was increased, the quality of seedlings became worse. It observably restrained the accumulation of saponins but limitedly hastened that of flavonoids.4. By fertilizing compound fertilizer mixing soil with different commensurabilities, the accumulations of saponins and flavornoids had been facilitated, especially saponins. The more compound fertilizer mixing soil was fertilizing, the higher the contents of flavonoids was. The individual fresh weight and quality of seedlings nearly had been not affected.5. The graduation standard of Panax notoginseng seedlings in Guangxi was initially set up. The individual fresh weight of seedling of first-level seedling was heavier than 2.0g, second-level of seedling was between 1.5~2.0g, third-level of seedling was between 0.8~1.5g. When the individual fresh weight was lighter than 0.8g, the seedling were not suitable for planting, they should be abandoned.
