The components and contents of RBC membrane protein and phospholipid, the contents of sialic acid(SA)and the hemoglobin, the activities of ATP enzyme and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase(G-6-PD) and membrane fluidity of RBC were detected by vertical polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, high performance thin-layer chromatogram and fluorescence polarization in the model chicken with the Vitamin E (VE )deficiency produced by using low content of VE feedstuff and supplying unsaturated fatty acid in the diet. The results indicated that:1.The protein components of RBC membrane in VE deficiency chickens changed. Percentages of protein bandâ… andâ…¡were significantly higher and bandâ…¢,â…¤andâ…¥were significantly lower (P<0.05, P<0.01) in the VE deficiency chickens than the control ones. Bandâ…£presented no significant change.2.The contents of PC and PE were lower and the contents of SM and PS were higher in phospholipids of RBC membrane in the VE deficiency chickens than the control ones (P<0.05, P<0.01).3.The SA content in chicken with VE deficiency was significantly lower than control one (P<0.05, P<0.01).4. The activity of ATP enzyme and fluidity of RBC membrane were significantly lower of RBC membrane in the VE deficiency chickens than the control onE (P<0.05,P<0.01).5.The activity of SOD and CAT were significantly lower and the contents of MDA, H2O2 and NO of RBC membrane in chicken with VE deficiency were significantly higher than control one (P<0.01).6.The contents of Hb and the activity of G-6-PD in chicken with VE deficiency were significantly lower than control one (P<0.01).The results indicated that the altered structure, increased lipid peroxidation, decreased activity of anti-oxidation and abnomal metabolism and function occurred in the RBC membrane of chickens with the VE deficiency which established the theory bases for revealling the mechanism of RBC injury and immunosuppression in chickens with VE deficiency.
