The average level of rice production is still very low in China, and rice planter by manual is still dominated in most of regions. Jiangsu Province is one of the rice production regions. From tenth five year's project ,the level of rice production had great advancement and had give importance break thought in rice plant by machine. This study provides cost estimates and analysis of alternative rice production systems based on different rice planting methods which includes rice transplanter, rice direct seeding, rice potted-seedling transplanter and traditional manual planter. Comparison tests with traditional approaches were carried out in typical three rice plant regions in Jiangsu Province. Each cost components related to rice production system were surveyed and collected by extension workers, which included materials cost, mechanized customer service charge cost, and labor cost, and then comparison and analysis were further carried out based on these data. Results show that the production system with mechanized rice transplanter can get maximum net profit in South China, and the production system with mechanized direct seeding machine can only applied in some suitable regions. In North China, the system by rice potted-seedling transplanter can dramatically increase yields by 14.3%. These results can give a good guideline to rice mechanized production for different rice production regions.
