The leaves of Chinese cymbidium are important appreciation and major parts of the plant. There are a lot of blank in the growth dynamics status of Chinese cymbidium, this research try it out. Cymbidium goeringii, C.goeringii var longibracteatum,C.lianpan and C.ensifolium have been used to study the leaf growth dynamics, study the similarities and differences, and draw a simple but also more accurately Indicators to reflect the dynamic growth of leaves and leaf quality. Appropriate substrats for Chinese cymbidium and the Impact of substrats on the quality of leaves have been studied. This paper is mean to provide the theoretical basis for the Cultivation of Chinese cymbidium, and enhance its quality, reduce the environmental destroyed, promote the industrial cultivation and exports. These are the main conclution:(1) The four Chinese cymbidium look like others plant in leaves growth dynamics, both are"S"-type curve, but between different species the growth dynamic is not the same.(2) Leaf growth and leaf quality are changed with time, temperature, relative humidity and light conditions.(3) Leaf length and width can be used as the composite index and preferred index for determination or evaluation the leaf quality, in the same times, the number of leaf, plant-height, and leaf stretch is used as reference indicators(4)Each substrat has it's advantages and disadvantages,"ST5"is the most suitable for the cultivation of Chinese cymbidium,"ST5"is compose with one proportion hagdite, perlite, SATUMA, cortex, dust of Alsophila spinulosa and two proportion foliage, one-third hull.(5)Different substrats and species have the different impact on the correlation and components analysis. Leaf area, single leaf fresh weight, and single leaf fresh weight per unit area (FWA) can as the C.goeringii var longibracteatum's indicator of the quality of leaves, leaf area and Single leaf fresh weight can as the C.lianpan's indicator of the quality of leaves.
