Over these years, we have tried every different approach to improve the utilization of roughage, and the major methods of measure simple concentrated in the areas of feed processing and modulation. However, in to increase the nutritional value of roughage, we should build a scientific assessment system. To our disappointed, we have no overall nutrithional assessment system so far, and the rough feed nutritional value assessed solely on the basis of the physical aspects of the senses, chemical composition and digestibility analysis of indicators such as individual assessment. In summing up lessons home and abroad, this experiment by a reference to Lu Dexun' scientific assessment index - GI, measured the GI value of Guangxi several common roughages. Overall considering the useful feed, CP, difficult digestible components such as the NDF and ADF, the experiment give out a more comprehensive and integrated assessment of roughage on the nutritional value. And this experiment gives the determination of Buffalo Common rough feed digestibility in the method of ALA.The conclusions are: to compare the quality of grass, according to CP and NDF percentage of roughage the order is: napiergrass> corn silage> sugarcane tail> corn stalks> straw> cassava residue; according to of the ME with the different components the order is cassava residue > sugarcane tail> napiergrass > corn silage> cornstalk> straw; according to the whole term intake results, the order is napiergrass > corn silage> sugarcane tail> cassava residue > corn stalks> straw; and according to the results of six roughages apparent digestibility the order is napiergrass > cassava residue > corn stalk silage > Sugarcane tail> corn> straw. It is so clear that any uses of single scientific indicators are difficult to determine the quality of forage quality. Roughage quality evaluation must use the composite indicator. GI is a comprehensive consideration all these factors and it's a more scientific assessment of the roughage.Therefore, in order to achieve scientific quality of the crude feed grade, we must consider the comprehensive rough useful feed, CP, difficult digestible component such as the NDF and ADF. And GI is a new comprehensive index overall account of the four indicators.
