This paper firstly introduced the research status and study overview about the header of the combine harvester both at home and abroad, and analyzed the problems existing in current combine harvester's header at home, then showed it is necessary to conduct theoretical and experimental studies of the header device about the combine harvester.Through the analysis of the structural characteristics of the header and movement analysis of the reel, established the motion mathematical model of the reel, and the adjustment of reel's relative distance and the confirmation of reel rotating speed and the calculation of power consumption. Aiming at the rape's configuration parameters, agricultural characteristics, physical and mechanical characteristics, studied and summarized the characteristics of the header of rape combine harvester.Introduced virtual prototyping technology in the design of header, to explore the application method of advanced CAD technology in the design of agricultural machinery. Builded up an entity model of the header by Pro/E, and the model was introduced into ADAMS through the Mechanism/Pro interface. Its dynamic simulation of was conducted, and found out the orbit of reel motion and velocity curves and acceleration curves. The simulation result accorded with the analysis of theory, this offered the basis for following real test. Finally on the basis of theoretical analysis and simulation results, the bench-test of harvest was conducted. Through single factor experiment, found the effect law of every factor to header losses. Based on the single factor experiment, through optimal method conducted orthogonal test, range analysis and variance analysis were performed for the test data. At last the best suitable parameters were founded for the header device. Then used regressive mathematics method and DPS(Data Processing System)system to set up the forward velocity, reel rotating speed and vertical distance of reel relative to cutterbar mathematic models. In the end, used the computer to carryon sensitivity analysis and optimize the parameters of regressive mathematics models.
