This research was carried out at the Agricultural Science Research Institute of Wujin from 2005 to 2007 with the japonica rice cultivar wuyunjing 7. To obtain the super-high yield rice population, the precise and quantitative cultivation techniques was performed in this research. By the systematic observation and analyses on the super-high yield population structure, the characteristics of super-high yield population were determined. Those characteristics could have important applications in the development of the precise and quantitative cultivation techniques. In addition, effects of different seeding density and planting density on the super-high yield population was also found to be significant, the imformation of which would be of importance for the precise regulation of high yield rice prpulation. The main results in this research were as follows:1. Dynamics of tillers of the super-high yield population seeded in the plastic plate were as follows: Leaf age at critical stage of productive tillers were later than that of the population seeded in water. Highest number of tillers was less than the population seeded in water. Effective panicles were 300×l04~315×104hm-2 and Earbearing tiller was higher than 65%.2. Dynamics of dry matter production of the super-high yield population seeded in the plastic plate were as follows: Compared with the population seeded in water, here was no distinct advantage in dry matter accumulation before producing till heading. However, the accumulation of dry matter was significantly higher. Accumulation of dry matter was more than 9 t·hm-2 (more than 75% of total yield) during grain-filling.3. Compared with the population seeded in water, the population seeded in the plastic plate was superior in source-sink and flow. Total spikelets were approximate 4 726 million/hm2, and the maximum leaf area index (LAI) was 7.8 basal bleeding.4. The treatment of two seedls in each hole and density 13.5×33cm2 has the highest yield and max percentage of effective tillers. Although the lower-density treatments had larger percentage of effective tillers, too lower number of effective panicles became the limited factors to the yield forming. Super-high yield needs larger percentage of effective tillers plus reasonable number of effective panicles.
