The hybrid populations of Malus domestica'Ralls'(female parent)and 10 ornamental crabapples (male parents)which flower and fruit with various features were used as materials to study the ornamental crabapples juvenile phase. The chief results were followed:(1)The result of grey system related degree indicated that there was greater relevance on germination, leaf-expansion and florescence. The correlation analysis of juvenile phase and florescence's germination showed that they weren't significant difference. Therefore, it was feasibility for using leaves'germination to forecast florescence.(2)There is maximum significant correlation between flower color and xylem anthocyanin content in April( r=0.933). With anthocyanin's content of April xylem(y) and flower(x), we established regression equation y=1.9391x+312.41, and discrepancies of the equation was less than 4%. So, it is feasible that using anthocyanin's content of xylem to selection flower colour. The genetic analysis find h2≥52.43% except cross combination of M.'Pink Spire'. Anthocyanin content in xylem inherit is quantitative inheritance. The analytical result of indicate that M.'Red Splender'cultivar is the better male parent varieties to assortment selection breeding.(3)The results of continuous determination of anthocyanin contents in male parent's xylem and fruit indicated that contents in male parent's xylem and fruit similar contents were similar and no big change of contents. Then August was a turning point in which anthocyanin contents sharp increased. Peel and xylem in the anthocyanin content of the associated analysis showed that they had signigicant correlationg at the 0.01 level. So, it through the anthocyanin content of child xylem forecast in its fruit colour is feasible.(4)By analysis of mature plants'(2~3years to achieve maturity)number and ratio which of ornamental crabapples distant hybridization groups, we speculated tree-type could effect time of juvenile period. (5)Detected different developmental periods of the VOCs from 3 different hybrid population in 2008. The results indicated that mature leaves contained MeJA which was cell-control signal substance.
