Ecol-agriculture is not only the strategy for the implementation of sustainable development, but also an important measure to accelerate agricultural modernization. In early 1980s, the government of China put eco-agriculture as a key measure for agriculture and rural economic development on its agenda. From experimental study to demonstration building, from large-scale promotion to continuous improvement and innovation, it has accelerated many successful experiences, but still have some problems to be solved, so its overall level is still under-development by now. With the increasingly fierce competition in the domestic and international agricultural market, it is the only choice for us to accelerate the strategic readjustment of agricultural and rural economic structure, build the modern ecology-friendly agriculture to attain sustainable development in agriculture. Therefore, it is of great significance to actively explore and study the eco-agriculture model with regional characteristics.Based on the investigation of natural resources and social economic situation in Daiyue District, the paper analyzed the data in agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, fishery and agricultural areas of the leading enterprises, and then pointed out the advantages and problems in its agricultural development; with the analysis of the construction of eco-agriculture and the planting structure and its leading industries for some typical towns or villages, such as Xiagang Town (mountain ecological agricultural model), Zhuyang Town (hilly zone of ecological agriculture model), and Fangcun, Dawenkou, Xiazhang (plains ecological agriculture model), and then proposed the development direction of its leading industries.Based on the relative theories on eco-agriculture and the principle in the selection of eco-agricultural model, with analysis of typical examples, combining similarity among natural situations, the paper proposed the regional development model of eco-agriculture for Daiyue District, as the mountain dry-land ecosystems models, hilly land of eco-agriculture model, and irrigated plains eco-agricultural model. At the same time, the paper also pointed out the 7 principle measures for guarantee of its development of eco-agriculture model. Although the paper analyzed and assessed the development of eco-agriculture typical pattern (mainly the leading industries) for Daiyue District, it does not mean that those models are suitable for all townships in Daiyue District. In fact, choosing a model for the development of ecological agriculture in different towns should be carried out in accordance with their specific conditions. Applying one single model maybe right, but comprehensive use of a variety of models is also necessary. With great differences in natural situations among mountains, hills, and plains, and also differences in economic, social and natural resources distribution, it is important for each town in Daiyue District in selecting the most suitable model for its own eco-agriculture to give the full play of its natural resources. The paper hopes that it can provide some references for other regions with similar conditions.
