Phytophagous insects can be attracted by chemical cues released by plants and searching for their hosts in a certain distance. Similiarly, natural enemies can also search for their hosts or preys by semiochemicals. In pest management, using semiochemicals to attract natural enemies controlling the pest arise much interests, since it will be helpful to protect biodiversity and ecosystem. Based on chemical ecological methods, this paper we extracted and identified the volatile materials and essential oil from frass of longhorned beetle larvae who damaged different tree species. This study will help to identify attractive compounds for Dastarcus helophoroides (Fairmaire) (Coleoptera: Bothrideridae), which parasiting Asian longhorned beetle in fields.Solid phase micro-extraction was used to extract the volatile substances from frass of longhorned beetle larvae who damaged Acer negundo,Ulmus pumilavar,Populus bolleana,Salix babylonica and S. alba var. The volatile substances were then identified by GC-MS, and their percentage were analyzed. The results showed that the main volatile substances were terpenes, and the percentage content ofα-pinene was the highest. All 7 terpenes were found in frass volatile from 6 different species of host tree. The numbers of chemical compounds show significant differences and P. bolleana is the highest, then S. alba var., U. pumilavar, S. babylonicaand A. negundo. After dynamic headspace extraction of volatiles by Tenax-TA from different frass when A. glabripennis feeding on different host tree species and, volatiles were analyzed by GC-MS. The results showed that the quantity ofα-pinene was the most among all compounds. The numers of chemical compounds was the highest in frass from P. poplar's, then S. alba var., A. negundo, S. babylonica, P. bolleana and U. pumilavar. All 8 substances could be found in 6 types of frass.Extracted the essential oil from different frass of longhorned beetle larvae damaged 6 species of host tree by water vapor distillation, the results showed that the number of compounds in frass from S. babylonica host were the most and 30 compounds were identified, 25 compounds of S. alba var. and P. bolleana, 22 componds of A. negundo, 18 compounds of P. poplar's and U. pumilavar. Only 4 compounds (glycerol, phenylsuccinic acid, myristic acid and palmitic acid )in 6 type of frass were the same. The quantities of 4 compounds were significant different in 6 type of A. glabripennis frass.
