Database And Management Information System's Foundation Of Herbaceous Peony Resource In Harbin Region

The type of Herbaceous Peony planted in Harbin at present contains wild species,cultivar and local type.There are many local types which can be used in breeding new cultivars because they have the features of high value,strong growth potential,strong cold resistance. In the history of herbaceous peony cultivation in Harbin,many cultivars which have been transpla-nted from central part of china have dead by late spring cold attack.Which cultivars can adapt to the environmental conditions here have not been detailed studied on,and the status quo of local type with high ornamental value has not been investigated,either.The lack of resource investigation is not benefit to the application and research on herbaceous peony in Harbin.Therefore,database and management information system's foundation of herbaceous peony resource in Harbin Region has great realistic significance for the cultivation,marketing,breeding and landscape application of herbaceous peony in Harbin. Through the study of all parts of the paper,the main results are summarized as follows:1.Based on the detailed investigation and recordation of morphological characters,a lot of herbaceous peony cultivars and local type with high ornamental value have been found, which can both survived in low temperature of the winter and late spring cold attack in Harbin. The database of herbaceous peony resource in Harbin has also been established.The database contains a total of 155 herbaceous peony species,cultivars and local cultivation types, including two wild species,44 cultivars(32 identified species),and 109 local types; morphological characters records contains 34 characters,including plants,leaves,buds and flowers;the pictures data include 4100 pictures,including flowers,leaves,buds,bud and the whole group,pollen,stomatal,disease,growth environment,and application in garden examples' picture.At the same time the status quo of hebaceous peony resources in Harbin were analyzed,the method of using leaves and petals entities scanning to measure the color and other characters has been proposed.2.Through the study on numerical taxonomy for some cultivars of herbaceous peony in Harin,we suggest that flower type is used as the first classification criterion,the stigma colour is used as the second classification criterion.Cultivars and local types of Harbin are quite similar in morphological characters,such as flower type,flower color,stigma color,ways of petal increasing,and the differences in leaf caracters are not obvious.3.Based on the study of aesthetic value and the application in landscape of herbaceous peony in Harbin,we summed up the status quo of landscape application of herbaceous peony in Harbin,and put some forward suggestions.4.The management information system of herbaceous peony resource in Harbin was set up by the computer language of Java and the instruments of Eclipse-SDK-3.2+ MyEclipse₅.5.1,My SQL Server 5.0,My SQL-Client,apache tomcat-5.5.23.A computer program for herbaceous peony in Harbin was developed.The system consists of a database and picture library,including a large amount of information data and picture information of the herbaceous resources in Harbin.It has powerful resource browsing functions,query functions, resource management functions,and with the features of informative,accurate description, well-structured,illustrated and easy to use,the system's database and content of the picture can be continuously updated,users of the system can easily access all sorts of information of herbaceous peony resource in Harbin region.
