Seabuckthorn(Hippophae rhamnoides L.) has the high qualities of biological yield and thermal value, resistant to cold and stump and recovery capability. It plays an important role in soloving the problems of energy crisis and sustainable development. By means of the multiple-factor controlling method, site conditions, densities, site preparations, ages of forest and ways of stump were studied in this article. Mearuring the growth conditions, moisture content of the soil in forest stand, number of shoot, survival rate and biomass, we can draw the conclution as follows:1. The order of moisture contentof soil, density, hight, ground diameter, biomass from the biggest to the smallest was as follows: the under-part of shady slope, the under-part of sunny slope, the upper-part of shady slope, the upper-part of sunny slope. The WUE was the biggest in under-part of shady slope. Besides the curve of net photosynthetic rate was a unimodal curve. There were high photosynthetic compensation point and low light saturation point, so the production capability was high.2. Forest soil moisture content increased with the decreasing density. Difference of soil moisture caused by differences densities decreased with increasing in age.3. After treated by site preparation of piezoglypt, the differences of moisture content of soil, survival rate, height, ground diameter, contrasted to strip tillage and control site, was significant at 0.01 levels. There were no significant differences between the values of strip tillage and control site.4. The value of current annual increment in biomass declined rapidly after 7 years. As the seabuckthorn calorific value change with age is very little, it is negligible that compared to biomass. Therefore, the best age of the first crop-ping should be at the 7th year.5. The number of shoots was greater after stumping in winter. With the increasing of the age, the shoots number of seabuckthorn was increasing. However, the shoots of 8-year-old seabuckthorn were less than 7-year-old. Therefore, the best time is the 7th year. The best mode of cultivation in Youyu region of Shanxi Province is as follows: the upper-part of shady slope or water areas with better conditions, the best time of harvest is the7th year in winter, the harvest period is 7 years. Moreover, to make it more convenience for speculating the biomass of seabuckthorn aboveground, the growth of multi-factor linear model was established: W=227.498t+14.910c-1211.579, R~2 =0.981, W:biomass (g/line), t:age (3-9a), c: crown diameter(cm). This can be a significant theoretical guidance for estimating the aboveground part biomass and the actual harvested production.
