| Forest health evaluation is a hot point in ecological study nowadays,which can be divided into three levels:national level,regional level and forest management unit level.An index system of forest community health be set up in the forest management unit level,which contains integrity of community structure,stand stability and condition of stand growth three rule hierarchies,the index hierarchy contains 9 indexes.And defined calculation methods of reference value,weight and index value.Using method above,based on the data of forestry resource survey,spruce forest and fir forest are evaluated from four aspects:integrity of community structure,stands stability,stands growth and forest community health in 301 forest farm of West Sichuan forestry Bureau,then put forward priority protection grade of subcompartment.Results as follows:(1) Plant association is the basic unit of forest health assessment,different vegetation type has different index weight for biological significance,and every formation should be appraised by different indexes with different weight and different reference value.(2) Results on integrity of community structure:integrity of community structure condition of spruce forest and fir forest are very poor,most of them are sub-integrity,and should take tending measures urgently.Results on stands stability:the condition of spruce forest and fir forest are very poor, and need the artificial repair planting for the bad understory regeneration.Results on stands growth: condition of spruce forest is good,but fir forest is bad,most of them are not good,need improve productivity in the method of adjust structure.Results on community health:condition of spruce forest is also better than fir forest,most fir forest are poor,need take artificial tending measures.(3) According to Results on integrity of community structure,stands stability,stands growth and forest community health,this paper puts forward the priority protection grade of subcompartment.
