In this paper, resource of Metarrhizium anisopliae and Beauveria bassiana in the surroundings of Baoding was investigated by Tenebrio molitor larvae trapping method from March to November in 2007 and 2008.All the strains isolated were used to conduct a preliminary bioassay.By mixed methods,10 M. anisopliae and 7 B. bassiana high virulence strains were selected. The stiff worms rate of these strains was between 20.00% to 100.00%, The stiff rank order of the M. anisopliae isolates was (M6-448,M5-110)>M7-335> M6-301>M7-220>M7-358>M6-073>M6-038>M6-322>M3-158;the B.bassiana was B4-001>B9-071>B6-330>B3-123>B7-095>B4-064>M6-056.LT50 of 17 strains was 2.95d-11.96d,The LT50 rank order of the M.anisopliae was M6-448
