Experiment with l-3cm-circumference bulblet of Asiatic hybrids ' Prato ' and 'Elite' , The developmental mechanism under the natural cold and cool Harbin area was studied. The effect on bulb growth and development of exerting salicylic acid treatment was also studied. It made clear the principles and characteristics of the bulblet growth and development of lily in cool-climate Harbin area, discovering the effect on bulblet swelling development of lily by exerting SA, which has important theoretic and practical meaning in the progress of the commercial bulb production taken in our country. The main results are summarized as bellow:(1) At bulb recovering stage, watering SA into the soil of lilies. The resu Its indicated that the SA treatment of different concentrations promoted the plant height and stem diameter of lily, the SA treatment of high concentrations restrained plant height and stem length,SA treatment heigh the diameter and weight of bulb.the weight of roots increased.and the contents of the soluble sugar and starch and soluble protein in bulb increased treated with SA. increased the activity of POD and SOD in the bulbs.(2) Bulbs had germinated after planting 30 days, dipping the bulblet into 5mmol/L SA before planting was benefit for bulb germination,the bulb germination percentage treated for 6 hours is high than that treated for 3 hours.(3) Dipping the bulblet into appropriate salicylic acid before planting was benefit for swelling and weighting of the harvested bulb,the contents of the soluble sugar and starch and soluble protein in bulb increased treated with 5mmol/L SA.(4) At bulb development stage, Foliar spraying with appropriate salicylic acid,The diameter and weight of bulb increased, And the contents of the starch and soluble protein in bulb increased treated with SA. But the contents of the soluble sugar decreased.(5) At bulb development stage, Foliar spraying with appropriate salicylic acid,SA decreased endogenous ABA and GA3 contents in the bulbs, but endogenous ZR and IAA contents in the bulbs increased.SA increased the ratio of IAA to GA3 and the sum of IAA and GA3 to ABA in the bulbs, but decreased the ratio of IAA to ZR,and GA3 to ZR.
