This paper studied the effects of anti-coleoptera transgenic P×euramericana 'Guariento' and Populus alba×P.glandulosa on the growth and development of the target pests,the no-target pests and the natural enemy insects.Meanwhile,three years investigation on arthropod community has been conducted to survey its composition structure and community characteristics.The results are as follows.1.Transgenic P×euramericana 'Guariento' and transgenic Populus alba×P.glandulosa couldn not inhibit the growth and development of the Anoplophora glabripennis;Laboratory feeding experiments on Plagiodera versicolora showed that,transgenic poplar had higher toxic killing effect on Plagiodera versicolora;By using the method of inoculating insects in the coop settled on the tree,field test showed that,transgenic poplar conferred resistance to Plagiodera versicolora,however,the resistance level fluctuated during the different generation of Plagiodera versicolora.2.Laboratory feeding experiments study the influence of transgenic poplar on Clostera anachoreta showed that two kinds of transgenic poplar had no effects on the growth and development of Clostera anachoreta in the laboratory feeding experiments.3.Laboratory feeding experiments study the influence of transgenic poplar on ladybird,Harmonia axyridis(Pallas) showed that transgenic plants had no significant effect on the mortality of H.axyridis. The development times of larval and pupal stages were not significantly different between transgenic poplar and control.4.The dominant group compositions of arthropod guilds were almost the same between transgenic Populus alba×p.glandulosa and their control.The dominant concentration of the pest sub-community was descended,and the predators sub-community was not affected significantly.And the diversity and evenness of arthropod community in transgenic Populus alba×p.glandulosa were higher than the control,the dominant concentration of pest sub-community were lower than the control.The dominant group compositions of arthropod guilds were almost the same between transgenic P×euramericana 'Guariento' and their control.The diversity of arthropod community and the pest sub-community in transgenic P×euramericana 'Guariento' were lower than the control,while and the evenness of arthropod community in transgenic P×euramericana 'Guariento' were higher than the control.Besides,the ecological dominance and dominant concentration of the predators sub-community were higher and the diversity were lower than control.
