Developing energy plantations to solve the energy crisis has been generally recognized by society.Shrub species with the characteristics of strong adaptability,fast growing,high yield have enormous potential in the development of biomass energy plantations In this paper,Caragana microphylla Lam was studied,which was recognized for its fast growing,high yield,large sprouting amounts,strong adaptability,high calorific value and other characteristics.In the typical area of the Loess Plateau--the Pianguan Country of Shanxi Province.a preliminary study of energy plantations of Caragana microphylla Lam in suitable stumping cycle,stumping technology and the effect of stumping for stand root system and sprouting in next year were researched.The main research results were as follows:(1) In the aged plantation of Caragana microphylla Lam with the stumping,the biomass of unit area,the whole of the caloric of unit area,the annual mean increase of biomass were much more than the comparison of 30 aged plantation and effectual promoted rejuvenation of old plantation.and separated improved 43.42%,42.21%,759.48%of the most.As a result,the paper propose that the aged plantation of Caragana microphylla Lam with the purpose of fuel-based energy plantation in the stand density of 3500-4000 clusters per hm~2 should arrange 5 years for a stumping cycle at least.The amount of roots which the diameter were less than 10mm(d<10mm) on stumping site after 4 months were more improved in 0~160cm soil layer,71.11%more than CK significantly.Especially,the amount of fine roots(d<2mm) in 0~60cm soil layer on Stumping site were 93.29%more than on CK site.It is one of the primed reasons of the amount of roots more increase dfter stumping.(2) In the new plantation with the stand density of 2500 clusters per hm~2,in the mild of shady slope, mild of sunny slope and beam hilly top three site conditions,the biomass of unit area,the whole of the caloric,of unit area,the annual mean increase of biomass were growthed of 6 years gained the most.There were no infection for the growth of next years of different years of new plantation.As a result,the paper propose that the new plantation of Caragana microphylla Lam with the purpose of fuel-based energy plantation should arrange 6 years for a stumping cycle for better.(3) In the area of stumping technology,in the mild of shady slope,mild of sunny slope and beam hilly top.that the stubble height should be controlled range 2cm to 5cm as possible.The ribbon stumping,the block stumping and soil treatment,without soil treatment would not impact the growth index of stand and the biomass of single cluste.so we can flexible choice as reason were woodland size and soil erosion.In this study had made to the stumping cycle and supporting stumping technology in old Caragana Lam plantation and new with the operating purposes of fuel type of energy plantation.It had theoretical and practical significance for the developing of energy plantation in our country.This article suggested that our country should continue to vigorously develop energy plantation,and strengthen the forest and shrub trees forest energy research and development efforts.Resolve the current energy crisis we facing and contribute to sustainable development for our country's energy.
