In the majority of provinces and cities in South China, especially in Fujian Province, there are widely Feng-shui forests, which are special forests.Dehua County is located in the middle of Fujian Province and the foothills of Daiyun Mountain which in the unique geographical position crossing the mid-subtropics and lower subtropics, and its vegetation resource is rich, so it is a typical significance to do vegetation research to understand Fujian vegetation characteristics. In Dehua County, many Feng-shui forests which are preserved well up to now, have long history and become important resources database of native tree species. Based on those, this study implemented classification of Feng-shui forest, carried out investigation by altitude which is dominant factor, and analyzed community ecology characteristics, such as plant flora, species diversity, spatial distribution pattern and interspecific association and so on. Meanwhile, the study explored protection and restoration measures of Feng-shui forest, thus for deepening people's knowledge about significance of Feng-shui forest and providing theoretical basis and technical guidance of zonal vegetation protection and restoration measures and etablishing country's forest system. Main research results as follows:(1) Founded a more perfect Feng-shui forest classfication system. According to the spot reconnaissance and generalized analysis privious research results of Feng-shui forest, provided type classification by Feng-shui forest's origin, maintenance object and the amusement and rest function and so on. Standing on meaning of Feng-shui forest, the study thinning analyzed maintenance object, which consummated classification system.(2) Based on Feng-shui forest community investigation, the study analyzed floristic characteristics. According to the statistical, Feng-shui forests in Dehua County have 92 families,171 generas and 298 species, which pteridophyte are 16 families, 19 genera and 20 species; gymnosperm are 6 families, 9 generas and 9 species;and angiosperm are 70 families , 143 generas and 269 species. Above the proportion, three kind plants occupied all plants is 6.71%, 3.02% and 90.26%. The fauna is primarily subtropical fauna, which has obvious intermediate belt plant characteristic of Middle and South Asian tropics, contactes with temperate fauna certainly, and there are respectable rare trees, such as Tsuga longibracteata W. C. Cheng, Ormosia hosiei Hemsl. et Wils,Taxus mairei,etc. (3) Analyzed species diversity of Feng-shui forest community by species richness index, simpson index, Shannon's Information index, Pielou evenness index and ecological dominance index. By comparing and analyzing species diversity index of each level (tree Shrub and grass), indicated that difference of species diversity index of each level had little difference, and species diversity index of three levels in different plot carried out same trend; By comparing and analyzing species diversity index of different altitude, the study indicated that species diversity would change volatility with altitude.(4) Analyzed spatial distribution pattern of each tree Shrub and grass level of Feng-shui forest community by variance-to-mean ratio, aggregation indices, clumping index, mean crowding and t test to indicate that mean variance of each layer of every community was more than 1 and departured from poisson distribution significantly, in that distribution pattern of each population in community was aggregation state.(5) Acoording to basic data of importance value sorting of tree layer and Shrub-grass layer, the study selected main vegetation among 22 tree layers and 17 Shrub-grass layer layers to research interspecific association. Calculated interspecific association index such as association index (AC), Jaccard index (JI) and so on, and carried out significance test.Inedcated that each layer's main populations took out not significant positive implicative, which reflected the community had stable stage.(6) Based on study of community ecology charactristics and degradation causes of Feng-shui forest, the study explored degradation measures of Feng-shui forest protection.Especially man-made destruction as main degradation causes of Feng-shui forest which included unlawful felling tree, reclamation, rearing poultry and farmland fire.Proposed protection measures of Feng-shui forest on different angle (government, villager and forest technology department and so on), and investigated specific technology mearsures of protection and degradation of Feng-shui forest on exclusion measures, filling up, soil management and so on.
