White clover is a well-known high-quality perennial legume which is widely distributed all over the world. The genetic differences of 11 clover test materials from Northern Xinjiang were studied on their morphological characteristics, Isozyme (EST,POD,SOD)and seed storage protein(prolamin and glutelin). The results showed:1. The differences of test materials were great in morphological characteristics and has abundant morphological diversiity. The germplasm types of 11 clover test materials can be grouped into 4 types, according to the cluster analysis on their main morphological traits. 3 of the materials that have larger differences were selected, which can be used as greening , ecological protection and forage breeding materials.2. The Peroxidase (POD), Esterase (EST) and Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) were used to test the genetic diversity of 11 white clover materials. The EST, POD and SOD isozyme bands showed comparatively high polymorphism, and the polymorphism points for EST isozymes zymography is the largest, secondly is POD , SOD is the least. Based on the cluster analysis of Isozymes zymography information, the 11 clover test materials can be grouped into 4 types. 3 of the materials (No1,No2 and No10) showed larger differences comparing with others on enzymes zymography.3. According to the numbers of polymorphic bands and the proportion of polymorphism, the Gliadinis produced is higher than Glutenin in the seed storage protein of 11 white clover materials. The 11 test materials can be grouped into 4 types, based on the cluster analysis of their sorage protein enzymes zymography information. 2 of the materials (No1 and No4) showed larger genentic differences comparing with others.4. There were great genetic differeneces within the test materials of a species from different geographical sources, whether in morphology, isozyme or seed protein level. Material 1 and 10 were initially identified to have larger genetic differentiation from others, material 3 and 6 have homology.
