Male sterility is a common phenomenon in angiosperms, which is discovered in many important crops, such as rice, maize, Chinese sorghum, tobacco leaf, rape and so on. And in which rice male sterility has very important utilizing value in agricultural industry. In this research,the spontaneous rice mutant with male sterility,802A,was obtained from the progenies of the cross 802A X II-32B. The cross was between 802A and II-32B along with some other rice materials. And analyzed its fertility properties, we achieved the following results by using the method of mapped by SSR molecular marker.1. The glume of ms802A(t) is Variate transformed, the seed is slender and twisted, and the anther is ivory white transparence. The pollen in the antheris mainly abortive pollen after it was examined by microscope.2. Among the cross combination hybridized combinations, all F1 are common fertility, and the proportion of fertility and sterility in F2 is 3 to 1, which indicates that this male sterility was controlled by a pair of recessive karyogene.3. The genetic effect analysis result indicates that, the height of the sterility rice is 5cm, and the number of tiller of which is obviously increased, and the average number of seeds of the sterility rice is fewer than the common rice, and the number is 26.4. According to the results of genetic analysis, by using the method of bulked segregant analysis and the hybridization between 802A and II-32B, we initially locate it on the third chromosome of rice. It has chain connection with the marker RM135,RM2334and RM6832, and the genetic distance of them are separately 21.6cM,16.1cM and 10.9cM.For further meticulous location, we change the target group for 802Aand 02428 cross F2group, and found that this sterility gene has chain connection with RM3513 and RM6266, and the genetic distance of them are separately 0.6cM and 4.2cM. This sterility gene belongs to distinguished from all other genes new gene and was named as ms802A(t) after careful index.
