Study On The Purification Ability Of Three Vertical Greening Plants Against Sulfur Dioxide In The Atmosphere

The author choosed three kinds of vertical green plants:Parthenocissus tricuspidata, Rosa multiflora, Jasminum mesnyi which were used most widely in Nanjing to investigate the application of vertical green plants. In order to provide evidence for the future application of vertical green plants, the author studied on their ability of absorbing sulfur dioxide and do some research on the change of physiological and biochemical indexes of them under air pollution. The main results are as follows:(1)The sulfur content of three potted vertical green plants leaves: Jasminum mesnyi> Parthenocissus tricuspidata> Rosa multiflora.The absorption ability of three vertical green plants to sulfur dioxide has significant differences and Jasminum mesnyi has the strongest capacity. In addition , the sulfur content of Jasminum mesnyi and Parthenocissus tricuspidata leaves have associated with air pollution concentration, Field sampling test have the same result.(2)The sulfur content change rule of three potted vertical plant leaves: decreased to aminimum in June,finally,there have been increased.Field sampling test:The trend of sulfur content between Parthenocissus tricuspidata and Rosa multiflora was similar to potted trial, but content of Jasminum mesnyi deceased at the beginning, and then increased,and deceased in the end. Meantime, there have significantly correlation between sulfur content of leaves and sulfur dioxide pollution index .(3)The sulfur content of leaves have significantly negative correlation between chlorophyll content and relative permeability.The responses of physiological and biochemical indexes of three vertical plants to air pollution wasn't significant correlation.(4)By investigated the application of vertical plants in Nanjing,the main application forms were summarized.Meanwhile,according to the investigation the problems and recommendations were put forward.
