To investigate the effects of active immunization with inhibin on the change of reproductive hormone contents in blood, generative organ and ovulation rate in oestrous cycle of Nyctereutcs Procyonoides were the purpose of this study. Selected 16 raccoon dogs raised in a Raccoon Dogs Growing Field in Harbin for this study which were 10~11 months old and similar in weight,and divided into two groups on random(n=8).The immunized group(n=8)are treated with s.c.injections of human inhibin vaccine into several sites followed by two booster injection at 20-day intervals and the control group(n=8)are treated with an equal volume saline. Taking the blood plasma at the same time before every immunization and 20 days after the second booster immunization to antibody titres. The day of empathema recorded as 0 day,the time of taking the blood plasma were -4,-3,-2,-1,0,1,2,4,6,8,10 day by turns,used for hormone determination. Lightning stroke the raccoon dogs to death 10 days after empathema, collected uterus and ovary after weighed. Recording ovulation rate, weight of uterus and ovary, length of cornu uteri, thickness of external diameter in cornu uteri's midpiece and diameter of ovary's macroaxis. Took the tissue of uterus and ovary to test under microscope. The results of this study are following:All in immunized group produce inhibin antibodies after primary immunization,and the antibody titres rised with immunized time increasing;inhibin antibodies can't be detected in control group.8 raccoon dogs in immunized group were all estrous, rate of estrous was 100%, which were 75% in control group.8 raccoon dogs in immunized group were estrous at 24.5±3.07 days after the third immunity, 6 raccoon dogs in control group were all estrous at 25.67±2.42 after the third immunity, the difference between two groups wasn't remarkable.The contents of FSH in immunized group were higher than control group all the time(except for 10 days after empathema). From 0 days to 8th day after empathema, the contents of FSH in immunized group were higher than in control group,but the difference wasn't remarkable.The contents of LH in immunized group were higher than control group at one day bafore empathema, the difference was remarkable;At 0 and 1st day after empathema, the contents of LH in immunized group were greatly remarkable higher than control group;the difference between two groups wasn't remarkable at other time.The contents of E in immunized group were higher than control group among the whole oestrous cycle.2nd days before empathema, the contents of E in immunized group were remarkable higher than control group; the contents of E in immunized group were greatly remarkable higher than control group,from 1st day before empathema to 2nd days after empathema,and 4 days after empathema.2nd days and 6th days after empathema, the contents of P4 in immunized group were remarkable higher than control group.4th ,8th and 10th days after empathema, the contents of P4 in immunized group were greatly remarkable higher than control group. The weight of uterus and ovary in immunized group was remarkable higher than control group;The ratio between the weight of uterus-ovary and the body weight in immunized group was greatly remarkable higher than control group;The length of cornu uter in immunized group was higher than control group,but the difference wasn't remarkable;The ovulation rate in immunized group was greatly remarkable higher than control group.The immunized group was compared to control group, uterine gland was growing and branch was increased, mucosa epithelium of uterus was thickening, the distribution of blood vessel was increased in muscular layer,the ovulating site and corepus luteum were increased.The results indicated that active immunization with inhibin on Nyctereutcs Procyonoides can cause the production of antibody ;Having the effect on the contents of reproductive hormone,the contents of FSH,LH,E2,P4 in immunized group were higher than control group on some degree;it can increase the ovulation rate, consummated the development of uterus and ovary.
