In order to study the effect of low energy ions on some physiological and biochemical indexes of Medicago sativa L., such as seed germination rate, amylase, soluble protein content, reducing sugar content, POD activity, proline content and relative electrical conductivity etc., this experiment utilized the ion beam which was with 25keV energy and the doses of 0(CK), 1800, 2000, 2200, 2400, 2600, 2800, 3000, 3200·D0 (D0=2.6×1013/cm2) implanting into the seeds of Medicago sativa L.The experiment were devided into two groups: one was processed by low energy ions, the other was processed by vacuum. Both these two processing had the same time.The result of study indicated that vacuum had some negative impact on drought resistance of Medicago sativa L. in a period of time. At same time , the treatment of low-energy ions beam, which was the dose of 1800,2200,3000 and 3200, improved the drought resistance of Medicago sativa L. The drought resistance order of its integrated capacity was treatment 3200(T3200) > treatment 2200(T2200) > treatment 3000(T3000) > treatment 1800(T1800).
