China is a large potato production country, its cultivated area and output ranks first in the world, but the yield is far below the world average. In potato production, the use of virus-free seed-potato is one of the most effective ways to improve the yield. However, how to improve the virus-free seed potato production and quality while reducing production costs has always been the key point which decides whether it can be taken into application or not. There are various seed-potato production systems in our country, one of them is the Two-year seed potato production system which can shorten the breeding period in maximum and provid the highest quality seed potatos. This study is aimed at improving the productivity and enlarging the production of microtubers, using the scientific management theory and technology to improve the production efficiency and the standardization of the entire production process, at the same time developing management protocols to achieve the control of the entire production. Then basised on these work, the best mode of production operation for the microtubers was determined in the present workshop. The main results achieved are as following:1. Carried out a certain amount of technological improvements in the production process, enhanced the level of standardization of the process and production efficiency, provided technical support for the enlarging production. Specifically including: a. the research of inoculation style showed that single node cutting is the best inoculation style in the microtuber mass production. b. 25-30 single node cuttings per cultural box is the best inoculation density, under this density we can not only harvest more microtubers but also heavier. c. 4-6 weeks darkness treatment after 3 weeks liquid tuberization culture can dramatically improve the production efficiency of microtubers, at the same time reducing the energy costs by 40% in this process. d. A substitution which is called man-made cotton had been found for cotton, which is more cheaper and can increase the level of standardization of media culture preparing, as a result the survival rate of single node cutting can be raised. e. Temperature is the most important factor which effects the growth of plantlets in vitro, and due to the uneven distribution of temperature on plates of cultural shelf, the productivity of plantlet is reduced. Under hanging the lamp by 5cm can make the temperature dropped by an average of 1℃on each plate, which can help us to enhance the production efficiency and quality of plantlets in vitro. 2. Through the combination of technology and management, the various production processes of microtubers are integrated and optimized. With this research, the cost of soild and liquid culture medium can be reduced separately by 0.5% and 1.4%, the illumination and temperature control cost are reduced by 3.1% and 4.9%. Overall production efficiency is increased.3. Based on the research of standardization of operations and technical improvement & optimization, the optimal operation mode for microtuber production is introduced, and this mode can also be a reference to the microtuber enlarging production. In microtuber mass production, reducing contamination, saving energy and increasing production efficiency of workers are the main factors to improve the whole production efficiency.
