Triazine herbicides have been widely used to control the growth of weeds in agriculture. The use of the triazines has brought great benefits for agriculture, but it also results in the potential harm to the environment simultaneously due to excessive and incorrect use. Triazine herbicides have a character of stability, which can remain in the crops after used, through the biological cycle they can enter the human body and endanger human health, many countries and regions regulated standards of maximum residue limits of triazine herbicides. The analytical method of liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry developed from the eighties of the twentieth century, it combines high separation of high performance liquid chromatography and many advantages of mass spectrometry such as high-sensitivity, wide range of use and supply of the molecular weight and structure information of molecule. The method has become a powerful tool for separation and analysis in chemistry, medicine and public health, food science, life science and environmental science and other areas, and it has arised widespread concern and applications. In the paper, targeted of maize we researched a method for detecting the multi-residue of triazine herbicides. Through groping the conditions of extraction separation, and purification, and combining the technology of solid-phase extraction we established a method to detect the residues of 26 triazine herbicides in maize by liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry:1. The method selected acetonitrile as the extraction solvent and Oasis MCX cartridge for purification. It was simple and convenient to operate, saved the amount of organic solvents and processing time, and simplified the process of sample pre-treatment.2. By optimizing the conditions of chromatography and mass spectrometry, we separated 26 triazine herbicides which basically covered the majority varieties of triazine herbicides.3. The method used selected ion scan mode, and made use of retention time and the signal proportion of monitoring ion-pair for qualitative analysis, and external standard method for quantitative analysis. It had high accuracy and sensitivity, and the minimum detection limits were lower than the standards for maximum limited residues of triazines regulated by developed countries in the world. At the range of 0.005-0.8μg/mL range, 26 triazine herbicides had good linear relationship and correlation coefficients were in the range of 0.9978-0.9999, which met the requirements of quantitative analysis. In the concentration range of 10-100μg/kg, the average recoveries were among in 73.4% -105.0%, and the relative standard deviations were from 1.9% to 9.6%. The limits of detection ranged from 0.25μg/kg to 3.0μg/kg.4. The experiment studied the effects of sample matrix effects on the results of determination. The method used standard curve to remove the effects of matrix effects.Through the experiment the paper showed the method of detecting the residues of triazine herbicides in maize had a wide range of use, it could be also used for detecting the residues of triazine herbicides in wheat, barley, rice and soybean. It had a strong applicability and good application prospects, and can be easily adopted and spreaded.
