In order to provide useful information for predicting heterosis, we studied the relations of genetic distance and heterosis using molecular marker technology. We did DNA polymorphism analysis about 14 parental genotypes of three-line hybrid rice combination, Xieyou and Shanyou, using 48 SSR primers. Furtherly we did some research about relevance between parental rice genetic distance and production of the F1 rice, and we explored the possibility of using parental rice genetic distance to predict production of the F1 rice. The main topics of this thesis are as follows.1. The PCR result of the 48 SSR-marked primers showed 136 PCR amplified bands (129 bands have polymorphism). In another word the PCR result of each primer has 2.83 bands (2.69 bands have the polymorphism, which take up for 94.85 percents). The range of the genetic distance of the 14 parental SSR markers is from 0.50 to 0.88 (0.667 on average). Of all the the combination, Xie A and 7954 has longest genetic distance, which is 0.88 and Xie A and 2DZ057 has the shortest genetic distance, which is 0.50.2. The 15 F1 combination analysis result indicated that total grains of each plant, true grains of each plant, number of productive ear and ear length had relatively bigger coefficient of variation. What's more, plant height and panicle length, total grains of each plant, true grains of each plant showed a significant positive correlation. The true grains of each plant, theoretical production and real production show an extremely significant correlation.3. The relevant analysis of the genetic distance of the parental SSR marker and the production showed that there was a positive correlation between genetic distance of rice parents and production of the F1 rice in certain extent.
