The paper studied physiological characteristics and chemical composition of the eight sun-cured red tobacco which contain the Lobular type varieties (safflower dwarf,monsanto dwarf,small yellow smoke No 2,white dwarf) and the large leaf type (yan shai No3,yan shai No4,yan shai No7,zi lai red). The resulted that large leaf type was better than the lobular type varieties in agronomic traits,dry matter accumulation and photosynthetic physiological characteristics, and the large leaf type was longer on the Budding and growth period, the best of performance is yan shai No 7; crop drought resistance and its stomatal conductance is negatively correlated, the lowest of all varieties was monsanto dwarf which drought resistance was the most;SOD and CAT activities of all varieties tended to decrease after topping, decreasing trend with the lowest was the leaf type cultivas, all varieties tended to upward on the MDA content which was lowest in lobular-type varieties, monsanto dwarf in particular was the best; in the chemical composition, the best of performance was monsanto dwarf in the leaf type cultivas under the field of nitrogen and nicitine accumulation, physphorus and potassium accumulation in the best field was the yanshai No 4 in the large leaf type, and chemical composition accumulation among the varieties demonstrated statistically significant differences;safflower dwarf,white dwarf,yan shai No7 was the most coordinated in the chemical composition after modulatting.Summary, Yanbian area suitable for a large number of promotion were mainly large-leaved varieties, the best was yan shai No7;the lobular type which have strong resistance and a good degree of internal coordination chemical is beneficial for the future development of strong resistance, chemical composition coordination, new varieties of high yield providies a thereoretical.
