The present experiment was conducted to study the effects of dietary Lactobacillus fermentum F-6 on growth performance and digestive function in Broilers. In the experiment, a total of 240 1-day-old AA mixed-sex broilers with similar body weight were randomly allotted into 4 treatments with 6 replicates in each treatment, with 10 broilers in each replicate. The trial period was 42d. Lactobacillus liquids were fed twice a day and limited to finish this drink in an hour each time. The basal diet was mainly composed of corn and soybean. Broilers were fed four levels of L.fermentum F-6 (0, 2×105cfu/ml, 2×106cfu/ml and 1×107cfu/ml, respectively) in drinking water in a single factorial arrangement.Under the present experimental conditions, the results showed as follows:1. The effects of L.fermentum F-6 on growth performance in broilers were related to the additive dose of L.fermentum F-6 in drinking water. Adding 2×106 cfu/ml could promoteg growth significantly. The growth rates would tend to decrease for broilers fed the L.fermentum F-6 of 2×105cfu/ml and 1×107cfu/ml individually.2. Adding the L.fermentum F-6 of 2×105 cfu/ml and 2×106 cfu/ml could significantly improve energy digestability, and increase protein digestibility at the day of 42 in broilers, especially, the dose of 2×106cfu/ml had the best effect.3. Adding the L.fermentum F-6 can significantly increase amylase activities in jejuna and pancreatic tissues of broilers ( P=0.07,P=0.03), especially the additive amount of 2×106cfu/ml had the most significant effect, and amylase activity was increased by 73.68% and 65.42% compared to the control, and the jejunum and ileum trypsin activity was significantly increased (P<0.05). While L.fermentum F-6 level was 2×106cfu/ml, duodenum chymotrypsin activity had the tendency to be increased by 56.07% (P=0.07).4. Adding the L.fermentum F-6 can increase length and width in duodenum, jejunum and ileum villi, and the crypt depth was also decreased, V/C ratio was increased. The additive amount of 2×106cfu/ml and 1×107 cfu / ml in the treatment group better (P <0.05).5. In conclusion, the addition of 2×105cfu/ml L.fermentum F-6 would be bestin the growth performance and economic benifits for broilers, and the addition of 2×106 cfu/ml and 1×107cfu/ml would be less effective, especially the addition of 1×107cfu/ml had the least effect in economic benifits.
