Analysis On Vegetation Restoration And Diversity In The Fencing Area Of The West Slope Of Helan Mountainous

Helan Mountain national nature reserve (Inner Mongolia Section) is in the west slope of Helan Mountain and is the important water resource conservation forest area of the Alashan area. However, the national nature reserve's vegetation has been destructed; the ecosystem has been threatened seriously due to a number of human factors. The national nature reserve has been fenced from October 1999 to protect and improve the ecological system's restoration. The measure of grazing land changed in forests had been carried on during 2000 to 2004 and 2008. This article analyzes growing situations of forest vegetation and natural forest's natural regeneration and the herb's species diversity of Helan Mountain national nature reserve by the vegetation's research during 2000 to 2004 and 2008. We can get the following conclusions:(1)We could indicate that the vegetation's Restoration in the area is significantly since fencing by analyze natural spruce forest , Shrub and Herb's growing trends since fencing. And the influence in the early is obvious, flattened in the late stage. It's rational that Herb'Restoration is earlier than Trees and shrubs(2) We could indicate that fencing could improve the regeneration rate. And Qinghai spruce forest's seedling and sapling's regeneration is better than Pine forest and Populus forest by analyze the natural regeneration of Qinghai spruce forest, Pine forest and Populus forest in the Helan Mountain national nature reserve during 2000 to 2004 and 2008.(3)We could indicate that herb pasture and constructive species'quantity in Xiazi ditch, Halawu ditch and Luanchai ditch is increasing by analyze the herb's abundance and richness index. However Achnatherum inebrians (Hance) Keng and Peganum harmala L. is reducing since fencing. The richness index of herbs is increasing. So the species diversity is increasing and the ecological succession towards the positive direction.(4)In order to make sure that grazing land changed in forests is an efficient way to vegetation restoration. And provide a theoretical basis to the restoration of the similar damaged ecosystems.
