In this paper, Siziwang country was regarding as the study area. Integrating the "3S" technology with ground data, the information of grassland resources were taken digitally by means of human-computer interactive method. Meanwhile, NDVI and the data of ground surface were established by combining yield estimation model, to quickly get the development and utilization condition of Siziwang country grassland resources. The grassland types, the estimation of aboveground biomass and the determination of carrying capacity were mostly studied, which provide a theoretical basis for the future to scientifically use of Siziwang country natural grasslands and supply the security of environmental protection for the country. The main conclusions of this thesis are as following:1.According to the investigation of grassland resources, the classification system of Siziwang country grassland classification was established. There are 4 categories of natural grassland, 9 sub-types and 46 types grassland.2.The total area of Siziwang country grassland is 2,212,300 hm~2. The area of temperate desert steppe is 1.6879 million hm~2. The area of temperate steppe desert is 360,700 hm~2, The area of temperate meadow grassland and low-lying area is 125,300 hm~2, 38,300hm~2, respectively.3. The number of MODIS images using the normalized difference vegetation index and ground plot establish biomass yield inversion model is as follows:Temperate desert stepp : y=1258.6NDVI-461.73 ; Temperate steppe desert : y=1234.3NDVI-385.13 ;Temperate grassland:y=1856.4NDVI- 747.95;Low and flat land meadow:y=2750.4NDVI -904.33;Model accuracy is 90%.4.Use of biomass yield estimation model for grass production was 1,506,860,000 kg Siziwangcounty;The production of largest temperate desert grass was 1,057,620,000 kg;The yield of temperate steppe desert grass was 236.16 million kg;The output of lowland temperate grasslands and meadow grass was 130,370,000 kg and 82,710,000 kg, respectively.5.The total carrying capacity of Siziwangcounty grassland is 607,500 sheep units;The order of the grassland types of carrying capacity is : the temperate desert grassland 434,600 sheep units, temperate steppe desert sheep is 80,900 units, temperate grassland and Lowland meadow steppe is 58,000 units and 34,000 sheep, respectively. 6.Remote Sensing in 2009 was compared with the monitoring results of traditional grassland resources in 1981: there is very little change in the total area of grassland. The total forage yield and total carrying capacity are reduced;Various types of area, yield and stocking rate in sequence were:Temperate desert steppe>Temperate steppe desert> Temperate grassland>Lowland meadow.
