In recent years, as the representative species of fast growing and fertility timber forest in China, poplar trees have been extensively developed in the country. It has now formed a kind of sunshine industry whose benefit increased significantly, reputation by people as a "green bank".Poplar cuttage are generally used to breed, but the poplar branches cuttage operation is the key process with largest labor-intensive, consuming hours at most, seasonal and high quality requirements. As transplanting equipment was immature, current poplar cuttage operations are mainly manual in China. Making a comprehensive survey of multiple transplanting equipments used at home and abroad, there are no mature products and technologies in the market now. Existing products are hand-feeding type of putting sapling. Operator's labor intensity is still high and there is no mature holding sapling mechanism. And it can not guarantee the verticality of sapling. Thus the most urgent problem is to increase the automation of mechanization in poplar cuttage operation.This article describes some of the basic principles and methods in the theory of inventive problem solving-TRIZ which from the former Soviet Union. We creatively designed the equipment of poplar cuttage by using TRIZ theory systematically and comprehensively. Based on analyzing practical problems, we analyzed the system functions and root causes.By defining the technical contradictions and the application of innovation theory, using the techno-conflict and solving matrix, building materials-field model and the application of standard solution to get the innovation design solution of sapling separated mechanism and sapling straightening mechanism, which are main parts in the equipment.Based on summarizing transplantation at home and abroad, the present development of transplanting equipment and the problems, this article laid special stress on analyzing and studying the separation, queuing, feeding, planting and holding of saplings in depth, and designed sapling queuing device of sapling separation clickwheel with buffer conveyor, sapling holding device of cam pendulum rod. The processes of sapling separation and holding are simulated in ADAMS,the geometry size and kinematic parameters of the mechanism are optimized, then the main structural parameters of model machine are obtained. On this basis, a structure chart of physical model machine is design.The design studied the cuttage operation equipment that can be applied to fast growing and fertility timber forest of poplar trees. It can increase the planting rate, reduce the labor intensity, improve the plant reliability, provide a theoretical basis and a new design method for the design of saplings separation and holding system in cuttage operation equipment, and lay a certain foundation for the development of high-performance planting machine.
