ABSTRACT In this paper, a field experiment with eight tea plant trees that introduced from ZheJiang and FuJian to TongBai. To understand the bioactive compounds of varieties of leave and flower, differences in resistance, differences in tea flower's aroma components and their production potential. The results were as below:Comparison of photosynthetic system. The results show that net photosynthetic rate (Pn), transpiration rate(Tr), stomatal conductance(Gs),intracellular concentration of CO2 (Ci), water use efficiency(WUE) of cultivars in leaves of eight cultivars are different and had obvious differences. Bixiangzao, Pingyangtezao, Baihaozao, Anjibai and Qilan have high net photosynthetic rate, transpiration rate and stomatal conductance show high photosynthetic and potential productivity, the five tea cultivars are adapt to growing in Tongbai and need to extend growing areas. But Pingyangtezao has low water use efficiency, this shows that its conducting tissue is strong, in the production, Pingyangtezao needs more soil moisture, it needs to strengthen water management in the dry season.The eight tea plant trees contain different bioactive compounds in different seasons. For the spring tea, Longjing43, Pingyangtezao, Bixiangzao and Anjibai's quality is excellent; In the summer, the quality of Longjingchangye and Bixiangzao is better than the others; In the autumn, Baihaozao, anjibai and Qilan's quality is better than the other tea plant trees. The spring tea's quality is best, the quality of summer tea is worst. In Tongbai, the cost of pick summer tea and autumn tea is expensive, it's a waste of resources, the tea in summer and autumn contains rich polyphenols, it can be used as the materials of extract polyphenols.The activity of SOD,CAT,POD and the soluble sugar and soluble protein content are important indicators of the judgment of resistance of tea plant. This study shows that:All the eight varieties have a high resistance, which Bixianzao, Pingyangtezao and Anjibai are outstanding.There are similar bioactive compounds as leaves and flowers of tea plant, but the biochemical components contents are different. The soluble sugar contents of tea plant flower is four times to six times than leaves, the soluble protein contents of tea plant flower is tow times to three times than leaves. The development and utilization of tea plant flowers soluble sugar and soluble protein has broad prospects.There are different composition in eight varieties of aroma tea plant flower. Mainly of alcohols, esters, aldehydes and lower alkanes substances.2-carene is the unique aroma component of Wuniuzao, Lavandulol is the unique aroma of Longjing43, Hexen-2-al is only in Pingyangtezao and Bixiangzao.So we can draw the conclusion that Bixiangzao, Pingyangtezao, Anjibai, Baihaozao and Qilan are outstanding, has good potential for high yield, high quality, resistance. They could be used as good tea plant varieties in Tongbai. But Pingyangtezao has low water use efficiency, this shows that its conducting tissue is strong, in the production, Pingyangtezao needs more soil moisture, it needs to strengthen water management in the dry season. There are rich soluble sugar and soluble protein in the tea plant flowers, the development and utilization of tea plant flowers soluble sugar and soluble protein has broad prospects.
