Researsh subject:To investigate the effect of astaxanthin on physical and chemical indicators of blood and immune regulation in AA broiler, prove whether astaxanthin can apply to the production practice as an immune modulation, meanwhile, provide a theoretical basis for further clarifing its mechanism in the future.Researsh methods:2001-day-old healthy chicks were randomly divided into 4 groups:group A was the control group,groups B,C,D were low,medium and high-dose experiment group respectively. From second day to 35th day, diet A was fed to group A, diets B,C,D were fed to group B,C,D. (diet A were from Changsha Lvye bio-technology co.ltd, diets B,C,D were diet A with 5mg,10mg and 15mg astaxanthin respectively). From second day to 5th day is the pre-feeding period, and the trial period lasted 6 weeks:From 6th day to 35th day. During the trial period, all the chicks were injected Newcastle Disease Vaccine in accordance with normal(l copy/chick intranasally), blood biochemical parameters, thymus index and spleen index, chicken peritoneal macrophage phagocytic function, antibody level and spleen IL-2 gene expression were measured. ConA-induced chicken splenic lymphocyte transformation assay was also done.Researsh results:Astaxanthin improved the nutritional level and significantly enhanced non-specific immune function, Hb and lysozyme content of groups C and D were significantly different with control group(P<0.01); Astaxanthin showed immunomodulatory effect:Hemolysin titer of groups C and D significantly higher than control group(P<0.01), the amount of lymphocyte proliferation of groups C and D was significantly more than control group(P<0.01); Astaxanthin increased AA broiler antibody level and extended its time.on 15th day, compared with control group,the antibody level of groups C and D showed significantly difference(P<0.01) and maintained a long time at a high level; Astaxanthin promoted the generation of AA broiler cytokines, increased its activity, thereby improved immune function of AA broiler, the average ratioes of AA broiler spleen IL-2 gene expression in astaxanthin group were all higher than control group, and there was significantly different between group C and group D(P<0.01).Conclusion:1.Astaxanthin can be used as an immune enhancer, which improves broiler nutritional and antibody levels, enhances the non-specific immune function, and promotes the generation of broiler cytokines.2.Immunomodulatory effect of Astaxanthin showes a positive dose-effect relationship with the additive amount in the diet.3.Astaxanthin promotes the generation of AA broiler cytokines, increases its activity and improves immune function of AA broiler.
