This dissertation has carried out assessment on black bear habitat in Wulahun and Yantongshan Forest Farm based on GIS technology from July to October in 2009.This research has taken the Lesser Khingan Mountains area Wulahun and Yantongshan Forest Farm as study area, where black bear distributes.According to the ressearch of former scholars and field sampling survey results, making quantitatively analysis to black bear's habitat selection, the factors which influence black bear bahitat selection are identified. The black bear habitat is evaluated, and the protecting approaches and strategies of black bear are also discussed.1,Study black bear's habitat selection in Wulahun and Yantongshan Forest Farm with selection coefficient of Vanderploeg & Scavia, principal component analysis and resource selection functions. The results show that black bear prefer to use habitat far away from interference, Altitude>400meters,mixed broadleaf-conifer forest, Slope gradient>30°,moderate canopy and Sheltering class, Shrub density>15, Fallen log density>3,chine. The results of principal component analysis show that corporate factors of black bear's habitat selection are terrain factor, hidden factor, vegetation facror in Wulahun and Yantongshan Forest Farm.2,Except human effect on black bear, the result of Wulahun Forest Farm showed that the most suitable area was 1.8756km2,accounting for 1.26% of the total area; the suitable area was 24.5277km2,accounting for 16.48% of the total area;less suitable area was 86.769 km2,accounting for 58.28% of the total area and unsuitable area was 35.7012km2,accounting for 23.98% of the total area. This situatioin sharply changed when we considered the aspect of hunman disturbance. The optimum habitat area was 1.6632km2,the suitable area was 20.1051km2,the less suitable habitat area was 72.5886km2 and the unsuitable area was 54.6867km2,which accounting for the 1.12%,13.5%,48.76%,36.73% respectively. The result of Yantongshan Forest Farm showed that the most suitable area was 3.5919km2,accounting for 1.2% of the total area; the suitable area was 90.639km2,accounting for 30.15% of the total area;less suitable area was 122.2983 km2,accounting for 40.68% of the total area and unsuitable area was 84.1356km2,accounting for 27.98% of the total area. This situatioin sharply changed when we considered the aspect of hunman disturbance. The optimum habitat area was 3.1068km2,the suitable area was 74.4345km2,the less suitable habitat area was 116.6895km2 and the unsuitable area was 106.4376km,which accounting for the 1.033%,24.76%,38.81%,35.4% respectively.
