Taxonomy Of Fifteen Species Of Peritrichous Ciliates (protozoa, Ciliophora, Peritrichida) From Some Economic Freshwater Fishes In China

This work mainly deals with ectoparasitic trichodinids from ten economic freshwater fishes in China, Silurus meridionalis, Silurus asotus, Pelteobagrus vachelli , Pelteobagrus bleeker, Schizothorax prenanti, Piaractus brachypomus, Saurogobio dabryi, Ietalurus punetaus, Odontobutis potamop, Ophicephalus argus. Ectoparasitic trichodinids were investigated in this work. 15 species of trichodinid submitted to 4 genera of Oligohymenophora Puytorac et al., 1974; Peritrichida Stein, 1879; Mobilina Kahl, 1933; Trichodinidae Claus, 1874; Trichodina Ehrenberg, 1838; Trichodinella (Rabbe, 1950) Sramek-Husek, 1953 and Tripartiella Lom,1959, Paratrichodina Lom,1963. Of which two species were described as new forms, Trichodina odontobutisi sp.nov and Paratrichodina rotundiformis sp. nov. and other 13 species, Trichodina ranae, Trichodina mutabilis , Trichodina rostrata, Trichodina matsu, Trichodina nigra, Trichodina hyperparasitis, Trichodina acuta, Trichodina modesta, Trichodinella epizootica, Tripartiella macrosoma, Trichodinella subtilis, Trichodina acuta, Tripartiella orthodens Trichodina kaptaiensis were redescribed based on observation of living body, dry silver impregnation technique, methyl green-pyronin stain and so on. It gives a detailed description and diagrams illustration of the morphological characteristics including the shape,the size,and all other basic biological features following the wide spread acceptance of the uniform specific characteristics proposed by Lom and the description of denticle elements follows the format recommended by Van As & Basson.The dissertation expects to reinforce new content for parasitology of fish, provide some basic reference data for pathogeny which investigated.
