Objective To investigate the roles of TGFβ1. TGFβReceptor Ⅰ and TGFβReceptor II in the carcinogenesis of Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) and their relationship with HBV infection. Methods Immunohistochemical technique was used to detect the expression of TGFβ1 TGFβR Ⅰ TGFβR Ⅱ and HBsAg in 36 cases HCCand 42 cases paratumorous liver tissue, All patients of HCC and paratumorous liver tissue had undergone curative resection. Results There was no difference in the positive rates of TGFβ1 expression between HCC tissue (69.4%) and paratumorous liver tissue (8 1.0%) (P>0.05). However, By the semi-quantitative analysis, the positive area percentage of TGFβ1 expression decreased in HCC tissue (17.23±11.78%) compared with that in paratumorous liver tissue (38.47±15.34% ) (P<0.05). The positive rate of TGFβRⅠ expression (41.7%) decrease significantly in HCC tissue compared with that (73.8%) in paratumorous liver tissue (P
