| Maxillofacial asymmetric deformities due to congenital underdevelopment, underdevelopment, defects from trauma or excision of tumor, are common in clinic. With the improvement of material living standard, people pay more attention to the improvement of mental life. Since facial deformity can result in serious psychological problem, treatment must be improved. At present, bi-dimensional measurement, mould of face, and assessment by naked eyes in the operation are still used for the diagnosis and design of therapy. While, as a new method of preoperative assessment, computer-aided tri-dimension analysis and automatic 3D fabrication of models are just at the beginning. Even in the developed countries, they are not popular because of high cost. Thus, it is very meaningful for us to develop an individual surgical predication system which is economic, utility, rapid, and high accurate. Just for this reason, we tried to make a surgical prediction system with Moire topography. First step, to get head-on Moire stripe pattern on face by Moire projector. Then to transform it into contour map by a special software. Third, mirror inversion. Fourth, after a series analysis, output blueprint. At last, to make the implant. The implant is perfectly fitted in the defect region. The system is satisfied in clinical application. It is a good method to display local 3D outlines on face. Basedon it, we can get a solid model of the form differences between two sides. This method possesses characteristics of simpleness, rapidity, economy, and utility. |
