Purpose: To research the relationship between Chronic Atrophic Gastritis (CAG) patients with damp-heat in the spleen and stomach or deficiency of the spleen and stomach of TCM and the Helicobacter Pylon (HIP) infection or the serum levels of 2 i-acid glycoprotein (AAG), to offer the objective indexes for diagnosing the diseases of the spleen and stomach of TCM. Subjects and Methods: 60 cases with CAG were selected as research subjects, among them 30 cases with damp-heat in the spleen and stomach of TCM(male 1 8,female 1 2,the average age 51.5 ?10.8Y), and 30 cases with difficency of the spleen and stomach of TCM(male 21 ,female 9,the average age 52.3 ? 11.7Y),1O healthy people(male 6,female 4,the average age 50.6? 9.6Y)were selected as contrasts. The infection of HP of gastric mucous membrane were detected with 0.25% basic fuchsin stainning assay, and the plasma levels of AAG were detected with nephelome-try assay. Results: (1)The HP infection of patients with damp-heat in the spleen and stomach were significantly higher than those of patients with deficiency of the spleen and stomach (P
