Although percutaneous radiofrequency ablation has been successfully used for treatment of many solid tumors, this technique has just been introduced into the therapy of tumors in the lung. The course of pathological changes and relationship between it and CT scanning after percutaneous radiofrequency ablation of tumors in the lung are not clear, is there some other mechanism in the therapy of tumors by heat ablation is not clear as well. The transplantation of VX2 tumor in Newzealand rabbit lung were established by two methods, and some characters of these two animal model were assessed; VX2tumors in Newzealand rabbit lung were ablated with anchor-shaped electrodes radiofrquency technique, and the course of pathological changes and CT scanning changes were observed, the relationship between them was assessed as well, a forward study of evaluating cell apoptosis status in the ablated area was conducted too. Conclusions:(1)VX2 tumor transplantation models in Newzealand rabbit lung could be established by either cell suspension injection or tissue clot suspension injection, The chance of success of the later was greater, while the tumor nodules establishment was earlier, the periods of metastasis being later by comparing with cell suspension injection method. Then it was believed thatthe models of VX2 tumor transplantation in Newzealand rabbit lung which were established by tissue clot suspension injection was more suitable for the study of radiofrquency ablation therapy of lung tumors.(2)Radiofrequency ablation with anchor-shaped electrodes could induce coagulation necrosis of most of the VX2 nodules in rabbit lung, and could induce apoptosis of tumor cells; The course of pathological changes of ablated area was surrounded by organization, the ablated area would be encapsulated by fibrosis tissue. Ca2+ crystal was conduct in some sample; CT scan can accurately reflect the pathological changes of ablated areas.(3)The status of tumor cell apoptosis induced by radiofrequency ablation was different in different section of the ablated area, there were more apoptosis cells in fringe section than the center section of ablated area.
