According to the survey of World Health Organization, cardiovascular diseases whose death rate is 40 percent is one of the diseases of the highest death rate in the world at present. Our "Eight-Five" project research indicates that in the 1.466 million monitored beings, the death rate of cardiovascular diseases of the people from 27 to 74 years old is 31 percent in male and 36 in female, CHF is one disease that cardiovascular diseases have developed to such a degree that heart cannot compensate. Chronic congestive heart failure can be found in 50-60% cases among people of advanced organic cardiovascular diseases.Once CHF has formed into being,it will repeat several times till gradually worsens.That is one of the serious results of kinds of heart diseases,which is hard to treat and tends to be the main cause of death of people of cardiovascular diseases. Ginseng cardiotonic pill-drops(GCP) (containing rehmannia dride rhizome ginseng bufo gargarizans cantor etc)is a compound prescription of tradition Chinese medine.lt was produced with modern pharmacology, based on the clinically experience of professor XuZhan-min, to prevent and treat chronic cardiac insufficiency. Our laboratory has conducted pre-experiment(a pilot experiment) on the dog worryingcongestive heart failure to see the effect of Ginseng cardioton-ic pill-drops on cardiac function .This experiment has proved that Ginseng cardiotonic pill-drops can improve the hemodyn-amics and the function of myocardium diastole and contractio-n, strengthen the compliance of myocardium, providing the clinical application with a reliable base. For the purpose of further exploration of the mechanisms,we did the following research:Experiment one The effects of GCP on NO ET TNF-a IL-6 and pathology of heart failure ratsObjectivesiTo study the mechanisms of GCP on cardiac function.Methods:Fifty healty SD rats weighing 180g-220 gram were randomly devided into five groups and each consists of ten.The five groups are as follows: l)control group:the rats are injected 1ml saline into the abdomens once a week,and six times altogether;2)ADR model group:the rats are injected ADR into the abdomen at the dose of 2mg/kg dissolved into physiologi-cal saline, 1ml once,once a week and six times altogether; 3)high-dose GCP group:the way of injecting ADR to the rats is the same as ADR group, meanwhile,with GCP instilled into the stomachs at the dose of 3.0g/kg,2ml once,once a day,and six weeks altogether; 4)low-dose GCP group:the way of injecting ADR to the rats is the same as ADR group,meanwhile,with GCP instilled into the stomachs at the dose of 1.5g/kg,2ml once,once a day,and six weeksaltogether;5)positive medicine(XinBao) experiment group:the way of injecting ADR to the rats is the same as ADR group, meanwhile,with XinBao suspension compounded of 0.5% carboxymethy Icellulose sodium instilled into the stomachs, 2ml(0.1g/kg)once.After the last instillation, the rats'serum cell gene of was measured. Meanwhile,the tissue blocks are taken out for observing the pathological changes so as to study the effct of GCP on heart failures.ResultsrModel group in which the NCK TNF- a IL-6 content in serum and ET content in plasma of rats are distinctively increase,which is notably different from the control group(P<0.01).Compared with the model group,in high-dose and low-dose GCP groups(3.0g/kg,1.5g/kg),the NCK TNF- a IL-6 content in serum and ET content in plasma of rats are all reduced (P<0.05 or P<0.01) .That proves GCP can distinctively reduce the content of NCK TNF- a IL-6 and ET.ConcIusions:GCP can inverse the activity of serum ET NCK TNF- a IL-6 of the myocardium injury rats.The level of serum ET NCK TNF- a IL-6 was decreased in GCP group.lt is suggested that GCP may relate to the mechanisms of Chronic congestive heart failure.Experiment two The exploration of machnisms of GCP reversing left ventricle thickeningObjectives:To study the function mechanisms of GCP reversing left ventricle thickening.Methods:Spontaneously hypertensive rats are applied to...
