Objective To study craniofacial structure of Macau adolescent with normal occlusion by using the cephalometric radiological measurement and establish the standard lateral cephalometric values in Macau. Method 74 students (42 males and 32 females) with normal occlusion were selected from screening 2343 students in Macau ,average age was 14.5 years old. Cephalometric radiographs were studied and measured by computer systemwith Steiner, Downs and Tweed's methods and the normal measurement values were established. All the data was analyzed statistically and compared with the values from Guangdong , Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Tianjin,Harbin. Result the standard radiographic cephalometric values of adolescent with normal occlusion in Macau was established at the first time. The facial morphology of Macau adolescent was the same as Guangdong adolescent, but compared with other cities, the convexity of facial morphology , maxilla , mandibular and chin was larger, the occlusion plane was more flat .Conclusion radiographic cephalometric values of adolescent with normal occlusion are various in different regional populaton. The accuracy is required when performing Cephalometric radiographs measurement, so it is important to know the various values between different region. It may make the orthodontics treatment more effective and the facial appearance more perfect.
