The chemical constituents of the Northolion hyacinthum (Wils) Staff have been protested systematically by means of tube-test and means of thin layer chromatography (TLC). It is found it contains alkaloida, saponin, cardiac glycoside, terpenoids, flaonoids, volatileoil, etc. From the bubls of Northolion hyacinthum (Wils) Staff, a folk medicine (Tai Bai-Mi), three glycosidal steroid alkaloidas which isolated by chromatography on macroreticular and silica gel were identified on the spectral and chemical evidence as 3 i-chaconine, solanidine-3-O-a-2-rhamnopyranosyl-(l-2)-[ P -D-glucopyranosyl-(l-4)- P -D-glucopyranoside; solanidine-3-Oa-L- iharnnopyranosyl-(l-2) -[ -D-glucopyranosyl- (1-3)-P-D-glucopyranosyl-(l-4)]- P -D- glucopyranoside.
