The backgroundThe popularization of Hospital Information System (HIS) greatly strengthens the administration and utilization of hospital information. Computer demanding for standards and information coding exactly, at present the deficient in information standards has been one of the chief obstacles to hospital information system construction, which is in urgent need of the standards of hospital information coding, especially the standards of hospital management information coding.2. Progress of the investigationThe standards of military hospital management information should be established stage by stage focusing on different key-points, which is based on the arrangement that the status of standardization has been understood and the regular patterns of it have been known well and Ihe basic problems of it have been discovered and the directions of it have been orientated .For this reason, the investigations and analyses of management information coding standards for military hospital are carried out in the research.2.1 Ascertaining of the objects and key-points of the research The 478 item codes of the "JUNZI No.1 Project " can be divided into five parts after being arranged and analyzed, of which the first and the second part will be the objects and key-points of the research.Item codes of the first part:There are 99 item codes which all belong to the category of hospital management information. At least one of the following deficient appearances in information standards:(1) The appropriate standards to these item codes have not come into being.(2) The standards currently in effect are not suitable for the administration and utilization of hospital information.(3) The forms of the standards currently in effect adopted in different hospitals are at odds.Item codes of the second part:There are 5 item codes which all belong to the category of hospital management information. The appropriate standards to these item codes have been issued for implementation, which are suitable for the management of hospital information and adopted by all hospitals in agreement.2.2 Ascertaining of the stages and aspects of the research(1) The item codes of the first part can be divided into 4 categories according to their status of standardization in 27 military hospitals investigated.3 I item codes (31.3 1%) are adopted by 27 hospitals in the same form.40 item codes (40.40%) are adopted by 27 hospitals in 2 to 5 different forms.18 item codes (18.18%) are adopted by 27 hospitals in 6 to 22 different forms.10 item codes (10.10%) are adopted by 27 hospitals in rather complex forms.(2) The standardization status of the item codes of the second part is good. The item codes of the first part should be regarded as the key-point of standardization of hospital information.3 Analyses of the result of the investigation3.1 Problems in standardization of the item codes(1) The standards issued for implementation are not adopted exactly and popularly.(2) The titles of some item codes are not standard.(3) The titles of some items are not standard.(4) Some item codes can't meet the needs of information newly created and changed.(5) The division of information isn't accurate.(6) The classification of information is not standard.(7) The module that information items are coded is not standard.3.2 Key points and aspects of the follow-up standardization research of the item codes(1) The 71 item codes of the first and the second category mentioned in 2.2 whose standardization status is better, especially of which 31 item cades are adopted in full agreement, may be regarded as the first stage of hospital management information standardization. The standardizing of those item codes will sound effects and the time spent in it will be short.(2) The item codes of the third category, whose number is few and standardization status is worse, ought to be investigated extensively and analyzed thoroughly and be standardized one by one. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Standardization, Management Information, Information Management, Hospital Information Systems | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
